Today’s children are growing up online—social media, games, chats—but this also puts them at risk for predators, including human traffickers.
Since becoming a Florida resident over the past 5 years, I've been made aware Florida ranks third in the U.S. for human trafficking, with Orlando and Miami among the highest-reported cities. In 2023, over 2,100 trafficking cases were reported statewide, most involving children (CBS News).
The Reality
Miami: 222 trafficking cases (2023)
Broward County: 164 cases
Most victims are teens and young adults.
